The Berlin design studio Formfjord was founded 2006 by Fabian Baumann and Sönke Hoof. Fabian is a diplom-engineer and designer. He has studied at the TU-Berlin in the field of engineering and at the TU-Delft in the Netherlands he has studied industrial design. Sönke has a diploma in productdesign. After his apprenticeship in upholstery he studied at the university of art in Berlin and the École de Design in Nantes/ France. Since 2013 he teaches as a professor at the university of Hannover. Today the studio works for a lot of well-known German and international companies in various areas. Their focus is on sophisticated concepts with formal clearliness and technologic sublety. The team of designers and engineers develops products that work - technological, ecological, ergonomical, emotional, strategic and economical.
