After a career in carpentry (Meisterbrief 1996) and studies at the Academy of Design in Münster and the Hochschule for Design in Offenbach, Knut Völzke founded in 2003, the Design Studio LEISE in Frankfurt am Main. With his team, he developed projects and products with a focus on contextual and inclusive design. It produced furniture, products and equipment for private and public spaces, as well as fair and exhibition projects from individual exhibit to the international touring exhibition.
Designs from Knut Völzke received international design awards and were selected for special shows in Cologne, Tokyo, Mumbai, and New York. Quality and beauty apply to him as criteria that are not limited to the useful life of the object. He understands good design as intelligent use of materials, symbolic expression and socio-cultural localization. Since the summer semester, 2010 Knut Völzke also works as a lecturer at the HfG Offenbach.
